Born in 1957, Condo originally studied art history and music theory at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. From an early age, he was fascinated by illustration and sculpting work. These interests swiftly grew into a powerhouse career that took the art world by storm.


The artist’s first foray into public-facing art was in the East Village during the early 1980s. Today, Condo is known for his breathtaking figure work, eye-catching drawings, and spectacular paintings.


His work is regularly displayed in galleries across the world.

The result is a collection of huge canvas pieces that are simply bursting with vibrancy and life. The lines, shapes, and paint techniques used here catch the viewer’s attention immediately and refuse to let go.

The world-renowned auction house, Christie’s, will soon open bids on one of Condo’s most monumental pieces – Staring into Space. The striking figure seen in this work is made with acrylic, charcoal, and pastel on linen.


Christie’s estimates that the piece will sell for between $2566640 and $3593296. You don’t see lofty sales like this for nothing. Condo prevails as one of the art world’s most influential visual artists in the 21st century.
